Frequently asked questions
What is EXIF and why should I care?
EXIF is metadata embedded by cameras: model, date, settings โ and often GPS coordinates. If you share the raw file, anyone can read where and when it was taken.
Which formats carry EXIF?
JPEG and TIFF mainly. PNG, WebP and screenshots usually carry none. The viewer also tells you when a file has no EXIF at all.
Does viewing metadata here expose my photo?
No โ parsing happens in your browser. The photo is never transmitted.
